write now

retreat

A 15-day online retreat to jump-start your writing practice and connect with kindred spirits

We are writing. We are writing now. And we are writing together.

You know you are meant to write, but have no idea how or where to start and you worry you’ll never actually do it.

That’s why I’m calling this the Write Now Retreat because, for many of us, the longing to write never leaves but the right time never arrives.

So, we’re doing it now, for 15 days—together.

Who is the Write Now Retreat for?

My favorite line from Maya Angelou is so true is hurts:

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”

Many of you reading this know that agony all too well.

In fact . . .

  • You’ve started writing (once, twice, a hundred times) but life keeps happening and you’ve lost the thread.

  • You’ve mentally carved out a date or a season to start, but you already fear you will let yourself down (again!).

  • You are starting to lose hope that you’ll ever actually do it, and this terrifies you because you know you are meant to write.

  • You cannot bear the thought of spending the entirety of your life taking care of other people while failing to take proper care of your gift.

  • You don’t know how or where to start, and this feels overwhelming.

  • The tug to write has turned to longing and the longing has turned to ache.

  • You don’t know if you are writing a memoir, a novel, a blog, poetry, a journal, or something entirely different, but the longing remains.

  • You know it’s time to start sharing your work within a safe, aligned community.

  • It’s your dream to get paid for your writing (and quitting your 9 to 5) but it feels far-fetched and far away.

Over the past decades, I have thought these very same things—hundreds if not thousands of times. But in 2024, I wrote and published my first book after developing a structure and support to actually do the dang thing. And I’m here to tell you that the writing process does not have to be dreadful, nor does it have to be done in isolation.

Join me as I jump-start the writing of my second book and we will write together.

True Story

For the past month, I’ve been preparing the structure and content of my own personal bootcamp to jump-start the writing of my second book.

But around week two of my planning process, I realized two things:

1) the structure I was creating is powerful and would work for a lot of people I know who have been feeling the nudge to write; and

2) I don’t want to write alone.

“What if,” I thought, “I opened this to others and we write together?”

It took be about 2.5 seconds to realize that writing with kindred spirits was not only what I want, it’s what I need. And I know for a fact many of you need this too. You know you are meant to write, but have no idea how or where to start and you worry you’ll never actually do it. That’s why I’m calling this the Write Now Retreat because, for many of us, the longing to write never leaves but the right time never arrives.

So, we’re doing it now, for 15 days—together.

In 2024, I finally wrote my first book. I started because the agony of my untold story had become unbearable. Very quickly, however, writing my memoir became the most exhilarating, nourishing, and illuminating work I’ve ever undertaken. It was pure magic—every day drawing me deeper into my truth and calling.

But when I started, taking on a major writing project didn’t make sense. I had just left the corporate world and opened my own law firm. I didn’t believe I had the time, focus, or finances necessary to write a book, nor did I believe I had a sufficiently “book-worthy” story to tell. But I did it anyway—mostly because I was miserable but also because I knew all the very legitimate reasons not to write would never go away.

. . .

I went into the book-writing as a lawyer processing my experience of sobriety, entrepreneurship, and freedom. When I came out, I was a writer. Not because I pumped out over 75,000 words, but because the writing showed me who I really am.

Now, I feel physically ill when I think about how close I came to not writing the book. If I hadn’t, I would still be in miserable. I would still be grinding down my days in a career I had long-outgrown. I would still be saying all the things you might be saying now. And worst of all, I would have never discovered my purpose or decided to live it.

Why am I telling you all this? Because I believe in the power of writing. It will transform your entire life. You will find your voice, your power, and your truth. You will experience more growth than a thousand masterminds. And when you finish, you will not only know who you are, you will have something precious and tangible to put into a world that desperately needs your voice and your story.

And that’s what this whole thing is about. Join me for the Write Now Retreat, kicking off on May 16, 2025. Register at the button below!

We are writing.

We are writing now.

And we are writing together.

I crafted the Write Now Retreat based on what worked for me while writing my first book. But it also includes the resources and support I really wish I had during the process—a constant flow of inspiration and support, opportunities to connect and hone your skills, and methods for recharging and releasing tension throughout the process.
