On Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 3:00 pm est, I am teaching on one of the biggest icons in modern history—Marilyn—freaking—Monroe!!! Growing up, Marilyn was looked upon with condescension and dismissal. She was a sex symbol—nothing more—and certainly no role model for midwest girls like me who got good grades, followed the rules, and pursued “respectable” careers.

So in 2022, when I became obsessed with Marilyn Monroe—seemingly out of nowhere—I thought I was a little crazy. But the more I learned, the more things shifted until I realized that the trajectory of my life had been fundamentally altered—by Marilyn.
